Bakt Koffe is grown organically in nutrient dense soil, these beans are hand harvested on a single farm by a single family.  They are then brought  to California where we roast them to perfection and pack them to order.  Never blended with other less nutritious coffees, minimal carbon footprint, all while supporting the family who grows the beans.

This coffee is available whole bean or ground roasted Medium or Dark.

Roast: Medium

Flavor profile: Caramel, cacao and honey.  Freshly roasted, this aroma reminds us of warm buttered kettle corn.

Roast: Dark

Flavor Profile:  Dark chocolate, pecan and a hint of roasted marshmallow, the body provides a smokey smoothness.
Hemp Dosage:  Un-Bakt (Hemp Free)

Coffee Origin: This Arabica coffee is grown organically in the Nuevo Segovia region of Nicaragua.  This is a region very close to the border of Honduras and is part of the Cordillera de Dipilito Natural Reserve, a place with rich biodiversity of flora and fauna.   Our beans are classified as Caturra, which is known for its bright acidity and smooth medium body.

The Process:   Coffee blossoms in the spring and is ready to harvest in the fall. Harvest time depends upon temperature, elevation and rainfall.  Picking coffee is a laborious process and must be done by hand to ensure that every cherry is ready to be harvested.  Once picked the beans are processed using the natural method.  This method brings out the flavor in the coffee in the most natural way.  The cherries are washed and then laid to dry in the sun until the fruit ferments and you are only left with the beans.  The green beans are then sorted for size and stored.   Green beans can be stored long term without concern over degradation.  The green beans are then shipped to the Los Angeles area where they are roasted to perfection by our experts.

The Bakt Koffee Way:

You have not truly sourced a coffee, until you knock on a farmer’s door and ask how you can help while sharing a cup of coffee with him.   Like all of our coffees, this coffee was sourced as a result of developing a personal relationship with the family who grow these beans.   Bakt Koffee’s goal in sourcing directly from the farm is to provide resources and growth to the family so they, in turn, can invest in their surrounding community.

Most coffee you find is a blend of many coffee’s from many farms with many middle-men.  This not only compromises the flavor of the coffee, but the farmers receive very little for the work that they do.  By bringing the coffee direct to our consumers, we hope to see growth and prosperity in areas of the world who need and deserve it the most.  The types of places where human connection is still the most valuable commodity.  Where they understand the value of a Circular Community.
